Apple is releasing the latest version of the popular Iphone with support for 3G networks.The features include thinner edges, full plastic back and a good battery life with 300 hours of standby, 8-10 hours of 2G talk, 5 hours of 3G talk, 7 hours of video and 24 hours of audio. GPS is also a go. Apple hopes to launch in 70 countries this year, with the black 8GB going for $199 and 16GB for $299 in black or white. However Iphone will be hitting the 22 markets, including the US, on July 11th.In India Iphone is officially expected to come out near Diwali and is expected to be in the range of Rs 20000-25000 and there is no scope of 3G networks so far in India.
3G networks are wide area cellular telephone networks which evolved to incorporate high-speed internet access and video telephony. 3G technologies enable network operators to offer users a wider range of more advanced services while achieving greater network capacity through improved spectral efficiency.
