Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008) gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. In his moving presentation, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals. He died last thursday from pancreatic cancer but his video will live on and has become a great viral hit. Globe and mail really says it well
We've all become accustomed to watching short clips of funny cats or skateboarders hurting themselves, or occasionally a music video. No big deal, right? But then along comes Pausch's video, in which the irrepressibly upbeat professor and virtual-reality pioneer talks about achieving his dreams, and it becomes a viral YouTube hit - despite the fact that it's more than an hour long. And not just that, but it features a guy doing nothing but talking. No cats. No nudity. No music.Enjoy the video and get inspired.
