MTV Youth Icon Nominees: An Amazing collection of innovators

While MTV over the years has been nominating sportstars or celebrities as youth icons for the first time it has decided to do something meaningful with the Youth Icon and has gone and nominated a bunch of 30 Young people who have made a difference or are trying to do so. MTV was looking for the ones who may not be super achievers but those who have made a difference and boy what a collection they have got A rural BPO, A creche for underprivileged and so on. Some of these people's stories make me wonder all of them seem to be under 30 and have done some amazing things. You can go ahead and vote for the one who inspires you the most here. As for me my favorite is Dhanax a wonderful microlending platform by a IIMK alumni in his words:

Dhanax is a unique platform for the HAVES of the India to help the HAVENOTS without getting involved into charity. It is a social lending site which matches lenders with investable savings and borrowers who are low income people and have no access to formal credit. It lets lenders to achieve a socialistic gratification in a very capitalistic manner.

On another note its an example of interesting social cause based marketing by MTV besides providing a wonderful platform for all these nominees.
