A weird social media experiment by Jason Sadler has turned into a very profitable venture for him . Jason Sadler started a quirky experiment: I Wear Your Shirt, a project where every day, Jason would wear one shirt from one company per day and post his image on YouTube, Twitter, Ustream, and more. He would be a walking, talking billboard and use all the channels of social media to promote himself and thus increasing the visibility of the company's T shirt and himself also. It also had a very unique cost structure it only cost $1 for a company to have him wear its shirt on January 1st, $2 on the 2nd, etc. until December 31st, where the price would be $365. Amazingly he managed to sell all the spots and made a cool $70,000 this year. If we analyze his social media profile you will find that interestingly he has 15000 twitter followers and his youtube channel has been viewed 7000 times. Now this is one of the unique campaigns I have ever seen but I am amazed at those guys who would be willing to pay $300+ for a day for being part of this campaign.Social Media is a non measurable and a time consuming exercise for a company but this is also a sign how people are open to experimentation in this medium and they are willing to let someone else promote them. source: mashable
