Gtalk as a Tool For Viral Marketing

I have been seeing this trend of late of Gtalk users using status messages to give a link to a new youtube video or something entertaining like a article of use and now when i saw one of my friends giving out Makkadman link as his status message then i realized that how important gtalk can be a as a tool for creating buzz or to do Viral marketing.A quick google search later i found that this trend is on uptake and others have also got a hang of it check out this link .However the market is still small since gtalk according to last reports was way behind Yahoo,MSN etc in terms of marketshare however in India it has turned out to be quite popular since we Indians simply adore google's products and this trend can be utilized quite effectively if someone puts his mind to it
