After writing the previous post on the state of Indian software factories I decided to do some research on Salaries in Indian IT industry and I found an interesting survey done by Paycheck on salaries in Indian IT industry here are some highlights
Based on no of years of experience
Google pays a median salary of Rs 6,33,489 for a software engineer while Microsoft offers Rs 7,27,989 as the salary at the same level making them some of the best payers in the industry.
These results are based on data of 20,000 individuals however there are broad scope for errors here since lower paying companies like Infosys,Wipro etc have more representation compared to higher paying companies but it is a fair indication that a much more experienced person in an Infosys or Wipro gets a much lower salary compared to that in MNC's for more visit Payscale
Based on no of years of experience
- Fresher(less than 1 year experience) median salary Rs 2 lakh per annum
- 1-4 year of experience median salary Rs 3,32,218 per annum
- 5-9 years of experience median salary Rs 6,56,538 per annum
- 10-19 years of experience median salary Rs 11,84,730 per annum
- Greater than 20 years of experience median salary Rs 12,83,457 per annum
- Software Engineer/Programmer/Developer salary Rs 3,25,801 per annum
- Senior Software Engineer/Programmer/Developer salary Rs 5,43,001 per annum
- IT Consultant salary Rs 5,92,365 per annum
- Team Leader salary Rs 6,91,092 per annum
- Project Leader salary Rs 7,35,520 per annum
- Project Manager salary Rs 10,00,000 per annum

THE SALARIES HERE ARE ONLY FOR PRIVATE SECTOR BUT IT IS NOT CONSIDERED FOR PUBLIC & GOVERNMENT. ALSO CONSIDER IT AND SHOW THE SALARIES FOR DIFFERENT POSTS IN DIFFERENT STATES AND IN CENTRAL GOVERNMENT
